
| Good nutrition is the core of being healthy and living a life of wellness. What is good nutrition? That is the question! The answers run clear across the spectrum. Some think good nutrition entails following a vegan diet. Others think they are incorporating good nutrition if they managed to get in 3 fruits in one day. These are examples of how individualized goals of healthy eating can be extremely different. I believe we can meet somewhere in the middle and that is what the Five Ways to Wellness are all about. Healthy Eating / Good Nutrition can be summed up in one word. Balance. If we balance our carbohydrate and protein intake, structure our meals and mealtimes a little more it provides a good start to the following. |

There is one more general thing to add to achieve an overall healthy eating status. It is to add Omega 3s to your diet three times/week. Salmon, walnuts, and flaxseed are good sources of Omega 3 fatty acids.
These basic concepts of healthy eating/good nutrition are the foundation on which to build upon as you incorporate healthy eating/good nutrition in your life.
